Turkey is a democratic, secular, unitary, constitutional republic with a diverse cultural heritage. The main language is Turkish, which is spoken by about 85%. Turkey has a interesting history due to many of the empires of middle east and south Europe. In Turkey are 76 million people living.

In Turkey are many different cultures, first of all the culture of the Oğuz Turkic, Anatolian, Ottoman and the western culture. The main religion is the Islam, even though Turkey doesn’t have a official religion. There are many different minorities. And the architecture of Turkey is famous all over the world, like the the Blue Mosque in Istanbul.


Turkey is roughly shaped like a rectangular, with an area of 783,000 km2. There are mountain ranges in the north and in the south. There are many lakes and rivers which are very popular for tourists.

Turkish cuisine is like a fusion and refinement of Turkic, Kurdish, Arabic, Greek, Armenian and Persian cuisines. And of course the famous Kebab is available all over Turkey. But what you actually can eat in Turkey depends on the region and many restaurants interpret the dishes on their own way, so there is always something new to try in Turkey.
